The 229 Japanese students aged 16 and 17 years old each paired up with a Thai student aged just slightly older, to exchange conversations in whatever way they could and taste some local Thai delicacies, including some coconut sweet desserts and Som Tam or spicy papaya salad, which brought tears to the young Japanese eyes, but also lots of laughter and excitement for their Thai hosts. Then the Phuket Technology College cheerleading team put on an impressive display of their acrobatic skills to the appreciative Japanese audience. Let's watch with them: After the show, we talked in English to Yutaka Yanagida, the Head-Teacher of Asahi Senior High School, Osaka, Japan, through Inoue, an Interpreter and tour guide who translated from English to Thai to Japanese, and back again -, but he explained more about their trip and impressions of the College and show: Then Miki, a 17 year old Japanese Student, of Asahi Senior High School, told us of her impressions of the Thai students and food offered: Finally Patinya, a Thai Student at Phuket Technology College, told us in English that she may want to learn Japanese and go study in Japan after this fun visit by the Japanese students:
